BRING A BASKET TO A BUDDY!

You might be wondering why this is the best basket.  Well, it’s made with just one sheet of paper, any age child can decorate it, and it holds a lot of stuff.  You can fill it with baked goods like blond brownies or banana bread and bring it to a buddy.  Also, I like alliteration!

I’ve been making this basket for years.  It always looks cute!  Kids enjoy making it.  (I think they like most projects that include brass brads.)  The options for decorating the basket are endless… You can use a ruler to make stripes or a maker to make dots.  You can use rubber stamps to stamp a design.  You can even print it on colored or patterned paper.

Spring is just around the corner.  It’s a great time to make the best basket!

PLAY A READING GAME: WORD HUNT

If you are working  on the Phonics Fiends reading program, you can store the flashcards in the basket.  You can also use the basket to play a reading game.  Play WORD HUNT:  When your child is out of the room, hide 12 word flashcards in easy-to-find places.  Have your child find each word, read it, and place it in the basket.
