Invent an Icy Game. Play it with a Friend

This craft can inspire creativity in the kids who possess that attribute.  And for the kids who don’t, there are instructions to construct a simple game.  This is a great activity for keeping the kiddos busy on bad weather days.  After they make their game, they can team up and play with a friend.

WINTER FUN FACTS

Snowflakes have 6 sides.  No two snowflakes are exactly alike.

Winter comes from an old Germanic word that means, “time of water.”

Winter starts on the shortest day of the year (around December 20) and ends on or around March 20.

The shortest day of the year is known as the Winter Solstice.

The North Pole is warmer than the South Pole.

It can take up to 2 hours for a snowflake to fall from a cloud to the ground.

Snow is colorless.  It’s about 95% trapped air.

A little water makes a lot of snow. 10” of snow will melt down to 1” of water.
